Living in the Light

“Send me your light and your faithful care, let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy mountain, to the place where you dwell.” {ps 43:3}

“Your light” – what does that mean? Obviously, the light is the thing that guides this person to where the Father dwells. But maybe the light isn’t a what. It’s a who.

I believe that God’s light can be sent through people. We are the messengers of His light and glory. How fantastic for us to be a part of His eternal plan? To win souls and lead people to His holy dwelling place! But, friends, how do we become the carriers appointed for this particular task?

• Love others {Matt 5:44/ Luke 6:35}
We can do this by volunteering in our community, sending a word of encouragement to a friend, going on missions trips. Anything that demonstrates the love that Christ gives us to others.
•Walk in humility {Phil 2:3}
Which means that everything we do should be out of LOVE (see step 1) and not selfish ambition. Everything we do is for the glory of God.
• Be a light of truth {2nd Cor 13:8}
We need to always keep the truth in our heart, and on our lips. Even though speaking the truth may be hard, it’s something that is desperately needed in this world. And truth always needs to be spoken in LOVE (see step 1)

“If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.”
{ ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:1‬ }

• Surrender your life to Jesus {Job 11:13-15}
“Yet if you devote your heart to him and stretch out your hands to him if you put away the sin that is in your hand and allow no evil to dwell in your tent, then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear.”
‭‭Job‬ ‭11:13-15‬ ‭

It may be a difficult task for us to undertake but through Christ, all is possible.

You are called, you are chosen, you are anointed, you are His light.

“Come, let us walk in the light of the Lord.” {Isaiah 2:5} •
