Fables, Myths, and Fairy Tales: This course is intended for 5th and 6th graders who are new to IEW’s structure and style syllabus. The course will improve the writing abilities of beginning writers and introduce them to sentence diagramming.

Following Narnia Volume 2: This course for 6th and 7th graders will examine the exciting world of C. S. Lewis’ Chronicles of Narnia. Students will write a variety of reports and creative works that expand upon the themes in the Narnia series. Students will also begin advanced diagramming. Successful completion of a previous IEW course or pretest required to register for this course.

Please note the Narnia book has changed from Volume 1 to VOLUME 2. Make sure you have Volume 2 for this course.

Mapping the World by Heart

Georgia State History

This course will introduce 8th grade students to the history, geography, and culture of their homestate, Georgia.

Advanced Composition and Grammar

In this course, students will refine their essay writing abilities and produce at least one term paper. They will also complete the 2nd season of Analytical Grammar. This course counts as one half high school English credit.

Book Needed: The Elegant Essay and Analytical Grammar Student Book (If you bought AG for the 2016-17 school year and Season 2 is not completed, you do NOT need to buy this book.)

Physical Science

This course is an advanced 8th grade science or can count as one credit of high school lab science. Students are introduced to basic chemistry and physics concepts. Labs included.

Lab fee required in addition to tuition.
